Our faculty consists of 29 full-time professors whose research interests and expertise encompass a wide range of subject areas including:

  • recycling waste products into concrete
  • developing innovative and inexpensive materials to replace bridge structures

Each year, faculty projects receive external funding from such agencies as NASA, the National Highway Traffic Saftety Administration (NHTSA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Institues of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Missouri Department of Transportation. They work in several research centers, which allow faculty members from across the university to pool resources and talents to create new knowledge.
