Research and Teaching Interests

  • Industry, teaching and research experiences are in the area of infrastructure sustainability with applications in pavement design, materials and performance
  • An expert in asphalt modifications including the use of recycled modifiers in civil/construction applications; holding a patent in crumb rubber reclaiming
  • National and international recognition with services in national committees on asphalt/pavement subjects 
  • Research and teaching interests are in infrastructure sustainability and recycling of asphalt pavement, modified asphalt binders, quality control/quality assurance, road materials and construction, design and characterization of asphalt binders and mixtures, pavement design and analysis, advanced materials characterization and modeling, and environmental aspects of road material recycling
